Il territorio come bene culturale, tra storia e sviluppo. Una necessaria discontinuità della/nella progettazione urbanistica

It is widely diffused and well-known that Contemporary urbanism faces problems and needs which are different from the past, and tackled with ethical tension and social commitment of great cultural value. The pattern of urban sprawl and incorrect local authority choices has, for the most part, been overcome. The need now is to give immediate response to the ongoing changes: environmental, social, and widespread disruption and poverty. New awareness, new responsibility, and a new urban culture is needed. A new way to design the territory in defense of the common good is also needed, which means first of all preserving historical heritage, ensuring fair distribution of rights, evaluating the consequences of interventions in the territory through the application of multi-attribute or multicriteria evaluation techniques. From this comes the need to elaborate a contemporary idea, how we want to build (and defend) our cities of the future and protect the landscape, and how a new design culture can become the road and the engine of this vision.È opinione ampiamente diffusa e consapevole che l’Urbanistica contemporanea deve affrontare problemi ed esigenze diverse dal passato, affrontati con una tensione etica e un impegno sociale di grande spessore culturale. Il modello della crescita urbana ad oltranza e di un governo del territorio impositivo e deterministico è ampiamente superato. La necessità, oggi, è quella di dare risposte immediate ai cambiamenti in atto: ambientali, sociali, di disgregazione e povertà diffusa.Serve una nuova consapevolezza, una nuova responsabilità, una nuova cultura urbanistica. Un nuovo modo di progettare il territorio in difesa del bene comune, che significa innanzitutto conservare il patrimonio storico, garantire la equa distribuzione dei diritti, valutare le conseguenze degli interventi sul territorio attraverso l’applicazione delle tecniche di valutazione multi attributo o multi criterio. Da qui nasce la necessità di elaborare un’idea di contemporaneo, di come vogliamo costruire (e difendere) le nostre città del futuro e tutelare i paesaggi e di come la una nuova cultura progettuale può diventare la strada e il motore di questa visione
