DE PROUST A BARTHES: A BUSCA PELA LITERATURA

In the essay ‘Longtemps, je me suis couché de bonne heure…’ published in TheRustle of language, Barthes highlights one of the most important features of the Proustian work : it is neither a Novel nor an Essay, but a third form. This form would be the only possible one to structure the Proustian novel, which focuses, among other elements, on the search of the narrator to become a writer. By analysing this new Proustian logic, Barthes identifies himself with Marcel Proust, for at that given moment the critic was searching a new way to write (literature) having as the departure point his mourning, or in Barthes terms, acedia, i.e. the sloth. The aim of this paper is to go through the Barthesian writings that namely mention Marcel Proust in order to analyse the importance of the French writer to Roland Barthes’ critical and writing production. For that, we propose to remark mainly the following works: New Critical Essays, The Rustle of language and The Preparation of the Novel.Em seu ensaio "Durante muito tempo, fui dormir cedo", publicado em o Rumor da língua, Barthes ressalta uma das características mais importantes da obra proustiana: não se trata nem de Romance, nem de Ensaio, mas de uma terceira forma. Essa forma seria a única possível a dar estrutura ao romance proustiano, que destaca, dentre outros elementos, a busca do próprio narrador por tornar-se escritor. Ao discorrer sobre essa nova lógica proustiana, Barthes se identifica com Marcel Proust, pois naquele momento, o crítico busca uma nova forma de escrever (a literatura) tendo como ponto de partida seu estado de luto, ou para usarmos um termo barthesiano, de acedia. O intuito desta comunicação é percorrer os escritos barthesianos que discorrem notadamente sobre Marcel Proust para analisar a importância do escritor francês na produção crítica e na escrita de Roland Barthes. Para tanto, propomos comentar fundamentalmente as obras: Novos ensaios críticos, O rumor da língua e APreparação do romance
