O desenvolvimento histórico da interpretação de línguas indígenas brasileiras e o seu papel no contexto atual

This article investigates the historical development of the interpretation of Brazilian indigenous languages through the intercultural relations in the country and its role in the current context. The methodology used is literature review, and one case study with an instrumental approach was included as an example. Different aspects of the problem are investigated, based on the history of oral translation in Brazil (WYLER 2003), the trajectory of indigenous languages in the Brazilian Amazon (FREIRE 2003), the interpreting models in the anthropological dimension (PÖCHHAKER 2002 and CRONIN 2002) and, finally, translation, globalization and minority languages (CRONIN 2003). According to the data analysis, the act of interpreting is still relevant for these communities. Therefore, this study theorizes about the specifc aspects of community interpreting for minority indigenous languages and its needs in a globalized world.Este artigo investiga o desenvolvimento histórico da interpretação de línguas indígenas brasileiras por meio das relações interculturais no país e o seu papel no contexto atual. A metodologia usada é a revisão da literatura, com um estudo de caso de abordagem instrumental incluído como exemplo. Diferentes dimensões do problema são investigadas, com base na história da tradução oral no Brasil (WYLER 2003), na trajetória das línguas na Amazônia brasileira (FREIRE 2003), nos modelos de interpretação na dimensão antropológica (PÖCHHAKER 2002 e CRONIN 2002) e, finalmente, em tradução, globalização e línguas minoritárias (CRONIN 2003). De acordo com a análise dos dados, ainda hoje a interpretação é relevante para essas comunidades.
