On Mallarmé and the arts

The purpose of this essay is to review some Mallarmé's ideas concerning the arts with special emphasis on the questions about the relation between the several arts, both from the perspective of poetic creation. Additionally, this essay aims to show the importance of these questions in the way the author conceived his poetics and, in particular, in hia idealisation of the Livre.O objetivo deste ensaio é passar em revista algumas das posições de Mallarmé, no tocante às artes e, mais particularmente, à relação entre as artes, tanto no plano teórico-crítico, como no plano da criação poética. Além disso, este ensaio pretende, também, mostrar a importância desses aspectos na concepção da poética do autor, sobretudo na sua idealização do Livre
