O presente artigo discute a relação entre futebol e alteridade através da noção de “equipe exótica”, associada historicamente aos selecionados africanos, muçulmanos, mas também brasileiros. Esta categoria adquire significado mais preciso uma vez situada em relação à técnica do corpo, à tática do jogo e à composição étnico-racial do time.
