The morphological study about Typology of Public-space in the City

The purpose of this study is the classification about public space in the city by the method of ranking from the characteristics of roads and plazas. The significant space for people among the road is plazas or squares in a city. But anyway in Japan there is not tradition about making plazas in a city. And in present day architects are making plazas or squares in the private site. The first step of this study was the ranking of public space among the private site. From this study we make the method of ranking about public space of roads and plazas in the city. This method is able to apply to both roads in the public city and public space in the private site. This method is made by two axis; the axis of form and the axis of function.
