Bullying is the repeated, constant and consistent exposure of one student to negative actions by another for a period of time (Olweus, 1993). It is one of the worst expressions of violence in schools. The purpose of this study was to explore how the Puerto Rican school system implements public policies and strategies for bullying prevention. Research methods included public policy content analysis, interviews with administrative staff, and focus groups with school personnel. The qualitative analysis highlights that policies deal with prevention, intervention and follow-up.
