This study examines the key antecedents and two important consequences of job satisfaction in a comprehensive framework by utilizing integrated methodologies. This involves combining meta-analytic techniques with structural equation modeling. The antecedents represent theoretical perspectives that indicate workplace influences including task characteristics, social information processing, and dispositional perspectives. The consequences are the withdrawal behaviors of absenteeism and turnover. The results indicate all three perspectives are supported to varying degrees with multiple antecedents impacting job satisfaction.
