Comportamiento del período interpartal en la hembra Cebú Cubano Blanco

The records of 293 deliveries that occurred between 1996 and 2003 were used in four herds of female females of the White Cuban Cebu breed aged 35 to 115 months, exploited under grazing conditions in a livestock company of the Najasa municipality, province of Camaguey, Cuba, with the objective of determining the genetic (stallion) and non-genetic factors (sex of the offspring, herds, numbers of births, time, year and age of the mother at birth) that influence the interpartal period. For the statistical analysis of the results a linear model was used by the method of least squares (SPSS, 2001), estimating the mean and standard errors for the interpartal period. The genetic effect of the stallion and the non-genetic ones such as herd, number of births, year and age of the mother at birth, significantly affected (P <0.01) the interpartal period, but not the sex of the offspring and the time of delivery . The interpartal period was 555.4 ± 10.7 days and a coefficient of determination of 9.7%.Se utilizaron los registros de 293 partos ocurridos entre los años 1996 y 2003 en cuatro rebaños de hembras de cría de la raza Cebú Cubano Blanco con edades de 35 a 115 meses, explotadas en condiciones de pastoreo en una empresa pecuaria del municipio Najasa, provincia de Camaguey, Cuba, con el objetivo de determinar los factores genéticos (sementales) y no genéticos (sexo de la cría, rebaños, números de partos, época, año y edad de la madre al parto) que influyen en el período interpartal. Para el análisis estadístico de los resultados se empleó un modelo lineal por el método de los mínimos cuadrados (SPSS, 2001), estimándose la media y los errores standard para el período interpartal. El efecto genético del semental y los no genéticos como rebaño, número de partos, año y edad de la madre al parto, afectaron significativamente (P< 0,01) al período interpartal, no así el sexo de la cría y la época del parto. El período interpartal fue de 555,4 ± 10,7 días y un coeficiente de determinación de 9,7%
