The main objective of this research was to study women in the labor market, pointing to their achievements and challenges faced daily. A bibliographical review of primary and secondary sources is presented on how to construct the various social representations that contribute to the configuration of inequalities between men and women in the labor market. The research is characterized as exploratory. The study was carried out among female professionals of the IES (Higher Education Institution) Administration course in the countryside of the state of São Paulo.
