The magnificent furniture of the National Museum of Natural Sciences includes two extraordinary meaningful pieces seldom noticed. Both from the 18th century, are settled in the Enlightened reign of Charles III and became incorporated to the “Real Gabinete de Historia Natural”, MNCN nowadays. These two pieces consist of a narra asana (Pterocarpus indicus L.) table from Manila, a unique piece since, as far as our present knowledge is concerned, there is no evidence of any other similar to this one in other collections. It belonged to the first director of the RGHN, Don Pedro Franco Dávila.
