Analysis of the buildings energy performance should include the calculation of cost-optimal levels of minimum energy performance requirements. EU regulation has established a comparative methodology framework for this calculation. It specifies rules for comparing energy efficiency measures, and the cost attributed to their implementation. To make building payable, it is not enough to minimize energy consumption needs by improving energy efficiency of envelope, but also use of optimized cost solution is required.
