The Integration Methodology of Sustainable Urban Dynamics Indicators with Focus on Transport

This paper discusses urban dynamics with focus on the sustainable transport indicators. It provides with principles for identification and selecting of indicators, and represents an indicator integration methodology. Indicators are very important components for various assessments due to proper decision-making. The successful assessment of various transport investment projects and programs depend on the accuracy of selecting, integrating and measuring associated indicators. The research addresses the importance of development of a satisfactory methodology for integration of urban planning indicators, indexing them, or constructing indicators measurable, more practical and understandable. From this perspective, this paper addresses the need for making indicators more understandable and easier measured in order to become used in urban dynamics decision-making processes. Based on the addressed needs this paper focuses on the differentiation and disintegration of indicators into more functional and easier to be measured indicator set. For these purposes, this paper suggests a systematically communicative methodology for integration of sustainable urban planning indicators. The empirical evidence show the existence of a great number of departments, institutions, and agencies carrying out research in the field of urban planning indicators. However, there is not clear methodology for integration of urban dynamics indicators.
