Water quality assessment at the Llapi River (Kosovo). The case study of correlation coefficients between the chemical data

In this study the main objective is related to the correlation coefficients between the chemical data, in summer period, in the water quality assessment of Llapi\u27s River. Statistical studies have been carried out by calculating the basic statistical parameters, anomalies (extremes and outliers) and correlation coefficients between different pairs of variables. The statistical regression analysis has found out a high positive correlation relationship between turbidity and EC. Electro conductivity showed high significant positive relationship with hardness, COD, Ca2+, Mg2+, and SO42-. Consumption of KMnO4 showed high significant positive relationship with COD, TOC, NO2- and PO43- (possible sign of waste waters from the urban influence). From the work field results and laboratory analyses it was found out that water quality of the Llapi\u27s River does not fulfill the criteria set by the World Health Organization and the distribution of pollutants indicated anthropogenic sources as influence of pollutants mainly from agriculture impact and waste water from factories
