Total Cr in water samples is determined by spectrophotometric method. Chromium is present in water in different chemical forms and different chemical state as Cr(III) and Cr(VI). Cr species were first converted to Cr(VI) after the oxidation with KMnO4 0.01 M in 100 ͦ C in the presence of H2SO4 and than Cr(VI) was determined by spectrophotometry after complex formation with Difenilkarbazide. The optimal experimental parameters of the method have been studied and the validity of the method was described. This method was tested in water samples of Shkumbini River collected on March 2017 in 4 different stations distributed along the run off, from the upstream to the downstream of the River.
