THE EVALUATION OF NATURAL SCIENCE LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION ON 2013 CURRICULUM IN SMP NEGERI 2 MUARA BENGKAL

Abstract: This research aimed to evaluate the Natural Science learning implementation on 2013 curriculum in SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bengkal. This research was conducted based on the Provus Disrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM). The planning of Natural Science was analyzed within the definition stage, the learning process was analyzed within the process stage, and learning evaluation execution was analyzed within the product stage. The data was obtained using observation techniques and documents analysis. The data gathered was then compared to the accomplishment indicators. The findings of the research showed that: the Natural Science lesson planning by its teacher in SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bengkal 2013 had been considered good because they had prepared and provided the lesson plan for the academic year 2016/2017 necessary before the learning begun, implementing the learning process based on the 2013 Curriculum lesson plan and the obstructions of the implementation were the insufficient facilities such as the tools and media, teachers’ comprehension of the assessment process, time insufficiency in delivering the learning materials and teachers’ lack of ability to motivate their students in teaching and learning process. Teachers held a vital role in determining the success on 2013 curriculum implementation at school. Therefore, they needed to have the ability in planning, executing and assessing their learning process hence the learning management could be implemented based on what had been planned.
