The purpose of this study was to investigate the young people communication activities and purposes in coffee shops in Banda Aceh. The objectives of this study were to investigating why young people either male or female (in Banda Aceh) hang out at coffee shops and what they are doing there. The method employs in this study are quantitative in nature. Survey is used to collect the data needed for this study. A set of questionnaire is distributed to 1,500 young people who were hanging out in coffee shops in Banda Aceh. The data collected were analyzed through SPSS in the form of percentages.
