The effort to obtain a codification of the statute law of this state started in 1941, and after several years, during which a numbering system and a title arrangement was formulated, in 1947 the text was produced just prior to the meeting of the 1947 Legislature. The Committee of the Bar Association, the Legislative Committee of the Association, and a majority of the compilers agreed that it wasn\u27t fit for enactment into the law. The Committee was continued for two years. During 1948 a number of lawyers obtained copies of the compilation or copies of certain titles and it was, after considerable investigation, concluded by the Bar Committee that the so-called Legislative Code was not yet in shape to justify passage
