In this paper we examine the impact that nominal features like gender, number and case have in the formation of internal and external agreement constructions in Greek as an L2. The idea is that the importance and the role of each feature in an agreement construction depend on its place in a markedness hierarchy. Thus, contextual features like case and number are predictable by non-native speakers due to their role in syntax and are ranked lower in the hierarchy. In contrast, inherent lexical features like gender are not easily predictable and are ranked higher.
