Los ritmos circadianos mantienen la homeostasis del organismo a través de ciclos hormonales, metabólicos y celulares que regulan la proliferación celular. A su vez, estos son mediados por condiciones psicológicas que pueden alterar su funcionamiento y dejar al organismo susceptible a enfermedades como el cáncer. El objetivo de este artículo es revisar la relación de los ritmos circadianos con el cáncer; enfatizando en aquellos ritmos que guardan relación con comportamientos como el ritmo sueño-vigilia y el ritmo circadiano del cortisol. Se busca identificar con esta revisión, posibles repercusiones en la incidencia y pronóstico del cáncer.
