The model of a frictional damper was applied for suppression of oscillations in the nonlinear mechanical systems. Applying dampers in nonlinear systems it is very important to determine the values of system parameters those let the dampers operate most effectively. From the investigation of nonlinear system it has been determined that a frictional dampers frequency diapason in nonlinear system is wider than that in the linear case
