ABSTRACT. The article in question is the result of research carried out by the Tutorial Education Program - PET Rural Education and Social Movements in UFRRJ - Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. It addresses the role of the MPA - Movement of Small Farmers, the interface between family farming and rural education. We work with the peasant plan, one of the main weapons of the MPA. It is a counterpoint to the state's incapacity to create laws to support small farmers. We developed a bibliographical and documentary research, using the following research sources: laws, ordinances, decrees and references on the field of education in Brazil.
