This home at 22 High Street now known as the Maine Stay B&B is located on land sold by General Henry Knox to William and Joseph Eaton. The house was built in 1800 by Alden Bass and was owned by William Carleton, a prominent Rockport businessman, who sold it to his cousin Joseph Hall. Joseph commanded 30 men during the War of 1812 and supervised the building of forts in Camden on Eaton\u27s Point and Jacob\u27s Point. His daughter Mary married Dr. Jonathan Huse and they lived in this house through the 1800s. The three-story home is known for its ornate cornices and moldings.https://digitalmaine.com/crhs_images/1014/thumbnail.jp
