Cole MacPherson discusses the years he worked as a smokejumper from 1955 to 1957 and then again from 1962 to 1965. He describes the smokejumper equipment at that time, as well as the physical nature of the training. MacPherson tells stories about the fires, the people, the injuries, and the pranks that were part of his experience while smokejumping in Montana and Yellowstone National Park.
