Angus Monroe and Lilly Monroe Interview, circa 1970s

Angus and Lilly Monroe reminisce about Angus’ grandfather, Hugh Monroe, who is referenced as a Hudson\u27s Bay Company employee and the first white man to live in the Pondera County area of Montana. They recall their friendship with cowboy and painter Charles Russell and share anecdotes about their time spent with him. The Monroes describe Angus’s career as a guide in Glacier National Park in the early 20th century. Angus talks about living in New York City for a short time at the request Mr. Leeming, who he met on a pack trip in Glacier National Park.
