James “J. B.” Armstrong reminisces over old photographs from Camp Crook, South Dakota. He talks about numerous people and places. He talks about a bunkhouse he used to sleep in when he worked for a man named Jess Kerr. He discusses Whitey Phelps who ran a freight outfit and sheered sheep. He talks about pioneer mothers and the jobs they did cooking, cleaning, sewing, and raising children. He gives advice on how to raise good children.
