Johnny Lott Interview, July 27, 2006

Johnny Lott, discusses his educational background, coming to the University of Montana to teach in the Department of Mathematical Sciences in 1974, and the New Math movement. He describes the development of the department at the University of Montana, the collegiality among the faculty, and his colleagues especially Gloria Conyers Hewitt and Howard Reinhardt. Lott talks about the development of the department’s Ph.D. program and the grants he and his colleagues administered, including the EMME Program, the IMPACT Program, and the SIMMS Project.
