Computer mediated communication and gender lects are a new research field in Hungary. In the first part of this paper we find the place of our research in gender studies history, followed by the description and results of the research. After discussing the problems of Lakoffs dominance approach and Maltz and Borker’s difference theory, we come to the conclusion that Butler’s gender constructions' approach is the most tolerant base but we cannot use it in computer mediated communication, since we still do not know the components of (the Hungarian) gender constructions.
