Computer mediated communication and gender lects are a new research field in Hungary. In the first part of this paper we find the place of our research in gender studies history, followed by the description and results of the research. After discussing the problems of Lakoffs dominance approach and Maltz and Borker’s difference theory, we come to the conclusion that Butler’s gender constructions' approach is the most tolerant base but we cannot use it in computer mediated communication, since we still do not know the components of (the Hungarian) gender constructions. On iwiw, a Hungárián relationship network, every user has a personal details formula with information about hobbies, work, domestic animais etc. In this study we present the results about animais. Our hypothesis that more men give information about breed than women wasn’t significant (Chisquare), but our other hypothesis that more women give the name of their animais was significant. We also found another significance in connection with synonyms. More men significantly associate humans with animals than women (examples for animals: my neighbours, my sister, my friend, etc.). On one hand this draws up a strong link between masculinity and power, on the other hand it is linked with ‘stereotypical men’s profanity
