This article analyzes the changes in the way the husbands/partners of Otomi women expressed their masculinity after the inclusion of their spouses in the labor market through the microfinance project of ProMujer. We seek to answer the question of How does the economic empowerment of indigenous women influence the ways in which men express their masculinity? The research work was carried out among 20 of the husbands/partners of women belonging to the Centro Focal de ProMujer located in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo. An in-depth interview was used to find out their stance towards women’s work and the income they bring to their households.
