My creative work, a young-adult novel titled Anahita, explores the idea of home and a continuous search for its meaning. The novel follows Anahita, an orphan with control over the element of water, who seeks her family and the reason behind her possession of this power. Along their search for home in Anahita, the protagonist and the other two supporting characters encounter and learn to redefine terms such as family and friendship for themselves and one another. By the end of the novel, it is demonstrated that home can mean more than the end goal of these characters’ journey.
