A study of the secondary metabolism of two northeastern Pacific sponges and two Sri Lankan nudibranchs has led to the isolation of thirteen new and one previously known natural products. The structures of all of the compounds were determined by a combination of spectroscopic data analysis and chemical interconversions. A study of the chemistry of the northeastern Pacific sponge Hexadella sp. has resulted in the isolation of six new brominated alkaloids. Two of these, hexadellins A (77) and B (78), are derived from dibromotyrosine. The structures of compounds 77 and 78 were determined via their acetylated derivatives 79 and 80.
