Blue mold (Penicillium expansum), grey mold (Botrytis cinerea) and mucor rot (Mucor piriformis) are important post-harvest diseases of pome fruit in British Columbia and throughout the world causing annual losses of 5 – 20%. Identification and quantification using novel DNA macroarray technology may assist in the development of prediction models and disease forecasting. Post-harvest pathogens were monitored and quantified throughout the growing season in four apple orchards in the Okanagan Valley, BC in 2007 and 2008.
