This thesis is concerned with the design, fabrication, and testing of an oxide-isolated complementary metal-oxidesilicon (ISO-CMOS) colour palette integrated circuit. Concepts in computer aided design (CAD) are discussed and the tools required for a complete CAD system are detailed. The fabrication steps, design rules, and electrical parameters of the ISO-CMOS technology are described. The colour palette function and its applications in graphics display systems are explained.
