Religious minorities living in diaspora offer fertile terrain for the study of the transmission of identities. Amongst these, Huguenot diasporas have attracted scholarly attention. In French Switzerland, the closest land of asylum for French refugees fleeing the persecutions which followed the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, studies abound which are especially interested in how refugees organised themselves and on their economic life, and which tend to underplay how identities were transmitted.
