Lavas (from the Eagle Brick Quarry, in the Ventersdorp Supergroup, South Africa) contain ocelli and matrix whose formation has been ascribed to liquid immiscibility. Samples have been remelted at atmospheric pressure and found to crystallise olivine and pigeonite.
