The conjunction and disjunction between Jesus and Christ : Tillich between the Extra Calvinisticum and the Intra Lutheranum Tillich was Lutheran, and always felt closer to Lutheran piety and theology than to Calvinism. However his Christology combines the two traditions : it affirms the presence of the infinite in the finite (intra lutheranum) and the impossibility of the infinite being enclosed in the finite (extra-calvinisticum). Tillich considers the possibility of a presence of Christ outside Jesus, while asserting that in our history and on our planet, Jesus alone is totally the Christ.Tillich était luthérien, et s'est toujours senti plus proche de la piété et de la théologie luthériennes que du calvinisme. Cependant, sa christologie combine les deux traditions : elle affirme la présence de l'infini dans le fini (intra lutheranum), et l'impossibilité que l'infini soit enfermé dans le fini (extra calvinisticum).
