Work was exhibited in 'The Library of Babel / In and Out of Place', (24 February–13 June 2010), Zabludowicz Collection, London, guest curated by Anna-Catharina Gebbers. As part of the Zabludowicz Collection's curatorial residency, Anna-Catharina Gebbers was given complete freedom to create an exhibition from the over 2,000 works in the Zabludowicz Collection. This exhibition was the largest ever to showcase of works from the Zabludowicz Collection. It was inspired by Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges' short story 'The Library of Babel' (1941). In the story, inhabitants of an infinite library search for the absolute interpretation of the information around them and this exhibition encouraged the viewer to embark on a similar quest for meaning. The exhibition was accompanied by an extensive public programme where invited professionals and visitors were offered the chance to become Guides, conducing tours for the public - discussing how and why our attention and perception is guided and exposing different ways of creating meaning within the exhibition. Participating artists included Mark Alexander, Nobuyoshi Araki, Hope Atherton, Jimmy Baker, Uta Barth, Steve Bishop, Martin Boyce, Helen Chadwick, Larry Clark, Mat Collishaw, Gregory Crewdson, Tracey Emin, Richard Forster, Ryan Gander, Anna Gaskell, Nan Goldin, Brian Griffiths, Andreas Gursky, Anne Hardy, Candida Höfer, Jim Lambie, Michael Landy, Tracey Moffatt, Mike Nelson, Ben Nicholson, David Noonan, Jack Pierson, Richard Prince, Clare Richardson, Gerhard Richter, George Shaw, Cindy Sherman, Hiroshi Sugimoto, David Thorpe, Keith Tyson, Banks Violette and others There was an accompanying series of lectures and panel discussions with experts including scientists and theorists from backgrounds such as neurology, psychology, sociology, philosophy, linguistics and literature. There was a fully illustrated hard back publication with specially commissioned texts and designed by Joff + Ollie
