Sustainable development has become the development paradigm of our new era. The present paper aims to offer some considerations regarding transnational partnerships for sustainable development, focusing on the European Union countries from the South-Eastern area. The research methodology is based on the literature review of the topic, as well as a quantitative and qualitative analysis. Working in transnational partnerships has been seen as a way of adrressing complex issues, such as sustainable development. These kind of partnerships are voluntary, multi-stakeholder initiatives specifically linked to the implementation of globally agreed commitments, facilitating and strengthening the process towards sustainable development.
