International audienceThe rockshelter of Pont d' Ambon opens on to the floodplain of the Dronne in a region rich in cliffs and Paleolithic sites. Two zones can be distinguished in the area excavated : the rear, altered by the Magdalenian and Azilian occupants, and the front, subjected to natural processes of disturbance. The geological study reveals : at the base, the alternation of alluvial and frost fracture processes ; in the middle part, colluvial and waterborn sediments ; and in the upper portion, a. return of frost fractured sediments.
