A major goal for the aviation community is reducing fuel consumption. Nowadays we can see so much effort to design a modern aircrafts that offer weight and low fuel burn savings. This study could help to understand the long way during the production of the next generation aircraft such as Airbus A350 which shows us many advantages in fuel economy. In the first part of this study the author describes the history of fuel efficiency from its beginning. The wing design and aircraft’s engines are introduced in the second part of the thesis.
