In the present paper we reflect on the relationships between pragmatism and neopragmatism. First, we present some historical aspects of Classical American pragmatism: Charles S. Peirce, William James and John Dewey. In the following we present two interdependent topics: the controversial reading about pragmatist tradition by Richard Rorty and the conception of his neopragmatism. Finally we discuss the alternative interpretation of Richard Bernstein. He claims that the notion of conflict is an invigorating element for the pluralistic pragmatist tradition which conciliates the classical pragmatism with contemporary pragmatism under common purpose of try healing of philosophical wounds
