This paper analyzes the influence of plasma spray parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of NiCrBSi coatings deposited by the atmospheric plasma spray (APS) process. The microstructure and mechanical properties of plasma spray coatings are determined by the interaction of plasma ions with powder particles when the rate and temperature of plasma particles are transferred to powder particles. The interaction effect directly depends on the time the powder particles spend in plasma, and that time is defined by the deposition distance for each type of powder, depending on the grain size, melting temperature and specific mass.
