NOTÍCIAS SOBRE A ÁFRICA REPRESENTAÇÕES DO CONTINENTE AFRICANO NA REVISTA VEJA (1991-2006)

This article has as main intention to establish a dialogue between representatives elaborated on the African continent in the pages of the magazine Veja and the collective imagination of the contemporary Brazilian Africa. Despite assume that the pieces reporters analyzed not explain, or synthesize dimensioned all perspectives mentally prepared on the continent and much less reflect the heterogeneous eyes launched on the African and about its realities, we observed a movement synchronic between the images reproduced in Media and mental scenarios circulating about Africa. On the departure locate a complex and differentiated set of representations and ideas generated on Africa, discordant views of existing collective imaginary, and that in any way points to the existence of more balanced and reasoned readings on the subject
