The main purpose of this article is to analyse the evolution of the Romanian political parties from the perspective of their performance in the three rounds of European elections that ever took place in Romania: 2007, 2009 and 2014. The European elections generated a rather little interest among Romanian voters, who didn’t perceive there was much at stake in this kind of elections. While this could be evaluated as a downside in terms of representation, the results offer a rather accurate image of the actual political support of the parties and their capacity to mobilize voters at a particular moment in time. An extensive analysis of the data available from the elections can provide explanations and insights for further electoral evolutions
