Seismic Microzonation Based on Analysis of Seismic Vulnerability Index Distribution as Basic Data of Spatial Planning and Development of Makassar City and Surrounding Areas

Sulawesi Island is a boundary of three tectonic plates, thus \ud need the mapping detail with the amplification of seismic \ud waves to spatial planning and development of the Makassar \ud City and surrounding areas. Level of amplification seismic \ud waves depends on several factors, include the thickness of \ud sedimentary, the level of compaction and geological age \ud factor that will result the distribution of seismic \ud vulnerability index value. In this research, data collection \ud carried out for 30 minutes using a set of three component \ud seismograph 303S portable type TDL at 92 measuring \ud points with spacing of 1 kilometres. Obtained data is result \ud of microtremor recording in time function were analyzed \ud using Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) method \ud to produce a value of dominant frequency (f0), \ud amplification (A0), and seismic vulnerability index (SVI) \ud value. Results from this research showed interval of \ud dominant frequency is 0,62 ??? 9,24 Hz with an average \ud value is 3,11 Hz and interval of amplification value is 0,87 \ud ??? 16,7. Interval value of seismic vulnerability index is 0,11 \ud ??? 181,97. From these analysis, values of f0, A0, and SVI \ud showed that there are two sites who showing cartiladge \ud damage potential is very high, i.e. Singkabatu and Permata \ud Hijau Residence. However, most areas of Makassar City\ud has a low potential for damage to the building caused by \ud earthquake
