PENERAPAN SIG UNTUK KESESUAIAN LAHAN TANAMAN KACANG TANAH DI KABUPATEN GOWA

The capability of GIS in determining the suitability land for agricultural purposes has become wide. The system is capable to process some thematic data using spatial analysis and geoprocessing. It is also able to overly some maps to get the land suitability for certain commodity such as peanut. By processing thematic data through reclassifying and overlaying thematic maps of rainfall, temperature, slope, soil type and landuse into criteria of peanut, we produce the class criteria maps and land suitability map of peanut in Gowa regency. The map is useful for decision makers in the planning of agricultural development in the region as a consideration tool. The result shows that most cultivated land for peanut are classified as properly suitable land with medium constraint
