OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR PALESTINE TO BECOME THE FULL MEMBER OF THE UNITED NATIONS

The research purpose of this Thesis is to determine and understand the opportunities and challenges that why Palestine has to become a permanent member of the United Nations and what are the strategical steps that Palestina will take to become a permanent member of the United Nations.\ud This research used the descriptive type of study and qualitative methods to analyze the data. This research described the opportunities and challenges which Palestine has to meet in becoming a full member of the United Nations and gaining its position. However, this research has been limited to only discuss the membership in the United Nations and on how the states of the full member of the security council uses its power to control the decision of Palestine???s membership.\ud The opportunities that Palestine has to meet in becoming the full member in the United Nastions still remains to consider the wide support of international society and upgrade recently the status of Palestine in the United Nations. The biggest challenge comes from the threat of veto by the full member of the Security Council especially the United States of America, the strongest ally of Israel.\ud The upshot of this Thesis designates that eventhough Palestine already been recognized by more than 138 United Nation member states, but Palestine needs to approach those five full members of the Security Council for its better bargaining position in the United Nation in the end
