This article will be presented in national seminar "Bringing the better science for better fisheries and the better future" at Riau UniversityThe research was carried out on several locations in the Spermonde Islands at Makassar area (Laelae, Samalona and Barranglompo Island). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between oceanographic conditions and the composition and density of marine sponges. The results of this study showed that there are differences in species composition in different of islands. The Laelae Island that closed to the mainland has low of species composition (5 families) than two other islands (nine families).
