Dualist interpretation of quantum mechanics

An interpretation of quantum mechanics is proposed which combines a dual wave-particle ontology with dual stochastic dynamics. The particle is subject to a stochastic evolution guided by the wavefunction, which is described by the stochastic pilot-wave model introduced by Nelson [E. Nelson, Phys. Rev., 150, 1079 (1966)]. In addition to the Schrodinger equation, the wavefunction is subject to a stochastic evolution guided by the particle, which is based in part on the spontaneous localization model of Ghirardi, Rimini and Weber [G. C. Ghirardi, A. Rimini and T. Weber, Phys. Rev. D, 34, 470 (1986)], and in part on Milburn's intrinsic decoherence model [G. J. Milburn, Phys. Rev. A, 44, 5401 (1991)]. It is shown that by combining these elements in a coherent model, we can overcome the difficulties found in interpretations built on only one of these ideas. The macroscopic limit of the dualist interpretation is analyzed for the case of a free body. Possible improvements of this interpretation are discussed
