In this era of great transition and upheaval, priestly ministry is faced with many challenges. As persons involved with helping people, priests are confronted with varied tasks (Sanford, 1982; Olsen and Grosch,1991; Muller, 1992; Evers & Tomic, 2003, Raj & Dean, 2005). The paradoxical reality is that while two priests can be working in the same type of work systems, one burns out while the other thrives. Hence if burnout out is predicted by job demands and lack of job resources then exclusively the available job resources can predict engagement (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990, Maslach & Lieter, 1997; Maslach, Schaufeli & Lieter, 2001; Bakker, Demerouti & Verbeke, 2004; Schaufeli & Bakker, 2004).
